Shop Worker / Driver
Job Summary:
We are seeking an energetic, experienced individual to join our company as a Shop worker and company driver. As part of our shop and delivery team, you will use forklifts and load and unload delivery vehicles and drive our vehicles to delivery locations. You will accurately keep records of all material inventory, both received and delivered, and observe safe workplace rules and guidelines when unloading and transporting products. This is a physically demanding position, meaning our ideal candidate is to be able to lift and move heavy products, in addition to possessing a valid driver's license, forklift operator's certification, and experience with warehouse inventory management software.
Shop Driver Duties and Responsibilities:
- Load and unload box trucks and other vehicles.
- Use forklift to move pallets and large items from shop to truck.
- Keep accurate records of items shipped and received.
- Safely drive trucks to delivery locations and unload goods.
- Select products according to order specifications using order slips, handheld scanners, or digital devices, ensuring correct quantities and items retrieved.
- Pack items securely for shipment, apply correct labels, and stage orders for distribution.
- Inspect items for damage, defects, and correct address verification.
- Follow health and safety protocols, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and report hazards.
- Work with manufacturing personnel, inventory staff, and supervisors to maintain smooth workflow and timely order fulfillment.
Warehouse Driver Requirements and Qualifications:
- Experience loading and unloading in a warehouse environment.
- Forklift certification and experience.
- Valid NJ driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy items throughout a normal shift.
- Experience with warehouse inventory management systems.
- Able to work overtime when requested.
